Did you know?

Kerala Kalamandalam has instituted an award in the name of Bhagavathar Kunjunni Thampuran, guru of Pattikkamthodi Ravunni Menon, the father of modern Kathakali practice, in 2004. This award is given to exponents of classical art forms such as Kathakali and Koodiyattom, below the age of 40

This award for the year 2008 was given to Kalamandalam Mukundan, in November 2009
